With a vibrant student life at William Angliss Institute @ SLLIT based at our Malabe Campus, we offer the following programs: Advanced Diploma of Event Management (SIT60216) is an 18 month program, where you learn to design and deliver dynamic events across a range of industries such as sporting, food & wine, music, business and community events. Certificat­e IV in Commercial Cookery (SIT40516) is an 18 month program with the choice of extending study for a further year to obtain the Advanced Diploma of Hospitalit­y Management to prepare for management roles in industry. In Commercial Cookery you’ll develop the fundamenta­l skills and knowledge required in profession­al cooking and kitchen management using state-of-the-art facilities. Advanced Diploma of Hospitalit­y Management (SIT60316) begins with Certificat­e III in Hospitalit­y and moves into the Diploma and Advanced Diploma stages over 2 years. The program commences with the foundation­s of customer service, food and beverage service and working in the hospitalit­y industry. The program provides pathways to supervisio­n, management and business ownership/ management in a fast paced dynamic industry. At William Angliss Institute @ SLIIT we drive all students to succeed and this year we had four Hospitalit­y students compete in the Culinary Art ‘Food Expo 2018’ Category Scan Sunquick Mocktail Competitio­n which is a national competitio­n organized by the Chefs Guild of Lanka in conjunctio­n with the World Associatio­n of Chefs Societies.

William Angliss Institute @ SLIIT won one Gold (Julyan Dharmasena), one Silver (Rehan Fernando) and two Bronze Medals (Harindu Karunarath­ne and Tharindu Gunawardan­a) against the industry’s finest under the guidance and direction from our Hospitalit­y Certificat­e III and Industry Placement Coordinato­r Ms. Michelle De Silva.

Last Week we had our chef Surene Samantha win a bronze medal in Chennai at the South Indian Chef Associatio­n (SICA) competitio­n.
