Srilankan Airlines: Rs.350 mn spent on consultancy service
TUS claim most solutions were similar to measures proposed by them
As reported Srilankan Airlines had paid Rs.350 million to Norway Nyras (PA Consultant Group) for proposals to be made in connection with restructuring and transforming the Srilankan Airlines to a profit-making venture.
However, the trade unions of SLA said, so far the SLA had not shown any response to the contents of the report of the consultant firm.
According to the TUS, the National Carrier is also paying expenses of star hotels accommodation for the 12 representatives of the Nyras.
“These representatives are expected to stay at these hotels until receiving SLA administration response to their consultancy report, including the proposals to transform the SLA to a profit-making business,” a TU source said.
The TU representatives also claimed that most of the solutions of the Nyras were similar to the measures proposed by them earlier to bring the SLA to a profit making business.
Founded in 2003 by Richard Davey, the former Global Aviation Leader for Pricewaterhousecoopers, Nyras specialises in designing and implementing strategic and operational changes, restructuring businesses, and improving performance within the aviation industry, according to its website.
