ANURA LAUNCHES newest book with musical notations
Seasoned journalist and music enthusiast Anura Wanniarachchi recently launched his newest book titled ‘Gee Prasthara Shathakaya – Part 5’ which includes 100 popular songs of the 60s and 70s especially, together with their musical notations. The previous four books in this series also had a large number of popular songs with notations which indeed came as a handy guide book for beginners learning to play the guitar and organ, as well as to all music lovers, especially band members. tuning This of book instruments, also has chords introductions and scales to in addition to other useful information. Under the guidance of Prof. Sanath Nandasiri, Anura passed the music diploma and Visharada exams conducted by the Bhathkande Music school of India. After having served as a key boardist and bass guitarist in several bands, Anura held his music concert titled ‘Aradhana Gee Prasanga’ in 1988. The SLBC B grade singer has contributed to several programmes on TV too. Anura who has won several awards and prizes for his musical and singing talents, is also an allisland JP. He also contributes to national newspapers focussing on songs and musical notations. In his foreword to the latest book, Prof. Sanath Nandasiri has said that writing musical notations is not an easy task and it’s a unique feat that Anura possesses. He hailed the young man as a committed music enthusiast.
