Seventeen speakers, panelists to deliberate at annual Cyber Security Summit this week
Defence Secretary and Central Bank Governor to inaugurate conference on Thursday
Seventeen speakers and panelists including top foreign experts will deliberate at the sixth annual Cyber Security Summit – Sri Lanka’s premier information security awareness event – on September 20 at Cinnamon Grand Colombo.
Defence Secretary Kapila Waidyaratne PC will inaugurate the summit as the chief guest while Central Bank Governor Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy is the Guest of Honour.
The deliberations under the theme ‘Towards a secure digital future’ will focus on four core sessions during the day conference, namely mitigating cyber risks in financial services, security in IOT era, prevention of data leakage, and digital forensic dynamics.
Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, Director Risk Services, India and South Asia, Visa Inc., USA will deliver the keynote address of the session on ‘mitigating risks in financial services’ while Dr. Coomaraswamy is the guest speaker. Sanath Manatunge, COO/ Executive Director, Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC and Dinuka Perera, DGM - IT and Operations, Lankaclear (Pvt) Ltd are the panelists of the session.
The second session titled ‘Security in the IOT Era’ will have Timothy Snow, Principal Solutions Architect – Security, Cisco Inc., USA delivering the keynote while Dr. Rainer Deutschmann, Chief Operating Officer, Dialog Axiata PLC is the guest speaker. Muhunthan Canagey, CEO & Chief Architect at Duo World Inc. and Dr. Indikasamarakoon, Head - M2M/IOT Strategy Development and Partner Management, Dialog Axiata PLC are the panelists of the session.
Nikita Zaychikov, Senior Manager, Infowatch, Russia will deliver thekeynote at the third session titled ‘Prevention of data leakage’ while Vishak Raman, Director - Cyber Security – India & SAARC, Cisco Inc., USA is the guest speaker. Damith Pallewatta, Deputy General Manager – Risk/ CRO/ CISO, Hatton National Bank PLC and Ashane Jayasekara, Partner - Risk, Forensic & IT Advisory Service, BDO Sri Lanka & Maldives are the panelists of the session.
Meanwhile, Terry Loo, Vice President, APAC for Digital Intelligence and Investigation Solutions, Cellebrite, Israel will deliver the keynote for the fourth session titled ‘Digital Forensic Dynamics’. Subho Halder, Co-founder/ CTO, Appknox, Singapore is the guest speaker of the session while the panelists are Senior DIG M.R. Latiff, Commandant – STF, Sri Lanka Police and Roshan Chandraguptha, Principal Information Security Engineer, Sri Lanka CERT|CC.
The day conference of the summit will be followed by Hangout with Hackers (Night Hack) – an evening edutainment meetup where ethical hackers will do demonstrations and engage with the audience to showcase the latest skills. The audience will receive a better understanding on the need for proactive strategies for corporate IT infrastructure through these demonstrations. The demonstrations will also emphasize the need to recognize ethical hackers as a profession and the importance of hiring them for proactive exercises to ensure enterprise IT security, the organizers said.
The summit is co-organised by CICRA – Sri Lanka’s pioneering cyber security training and consultancy organization – and Daily FT, country’s only business and finance newspaper.
The summit is supported by Cisco as the principal sponsor, Visa as the strategic partner, and Infowatch and Tufin as co-sponsors. Lankapay is the official payment partner of the summit while Dialog is the telecommunication partner. Sri Lanka Insurance is the insurance partner of the summit.
Ministry of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure and ICT Agency of Sri Lanka have endorsed the event.
More than 400 professionals participated in the 2017 edition of the summit.
