President Maithripala Sirisena has recalled some staff members of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Austria.the President said that he made the decision as his communication team was not able to contact this embassy for four-and-halfhours. He said he did so to send a message across to other Sri Lankan missions as well.

We thank the President for taking this decision.all these officials are paid by the people of this country.

They must be more responsible. they are given very high salaries and various other benefits. This decision will send a message to all Government employees as well. Can we use the telephone and get anything done from a Government Institution?

Normally they do not answer telephones in the first place. Even if they answer, the person you want to contact is not in the seat.

Can you go to a Government office and get something done promptly.very often the officials are on leave.very often the papers are misplaced. Sometimes the boss is not there to sign the papers.very often the big people have gone abroad. If you write a letter or send an email you will not get a reply.

But if you know somebody in the organization, it is easier to get a job done.
