Eshani, Yasoda back in SL T20 Squad
Eshani Lokusooriya and Yasoda Mendis have been included in the 15-member Sri Lanka Women’s Twenty20 Squad for the five-match series against the India Women with the first match scheduled to be played at the FTZ Grounds in Katunayake today.
All-rounder Eshani is making a comeback after a lapse of one year after her last stint during the Women’s World Cup last year.
The selectors also took a gamble in bringing in Yasoda as a top-order bat replacing Nipni Hansika while wicket-keeper Rebecca van Dort has been brought in place of Prasadani Weerakkody.
The surprise omission from
the side is former Skipper Inoka Ranaweera who has been unable to get the nod of the selectors as she was not taken into consideration due to her lack lustre performance in the concluded three-match ODI series.
The remaining four matches of the series will be played on September 21 at the Colts Grounds, September 22 and September 24 at the CCC Grounds and the last match at the FTZ Grounds in Katunayake.
