CIM Sri Lanka and SLIM host Joint Economic Forum in Colombo today

The Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka together with Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) will be hosting a joint forum under the theme ‘Economy 2019 - A Legislativ­e and Corporate Viewpoint’ today from 6.00 p.m. onwards at the Hilton Colombo Residences.

The speakers of the programme are Harin Fernando, Minister of Telecommun­ications and Digital Infrastruc­ture, Navin Dissanayak­e, Minister of Plantation Industries, Dr. Rohan Fernando, Director Aitken Spence PLC, Shiran Fernando, Chief Economist, Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and Dinesh Weerakkody, Chairman, Hatton National Bank PLC will serve as the moderator. The programme will highlight the legislativ­e changes that will drive economic changes in the country in the coming year.

Charaka Perera, Head of Membership Developmen­t at CIM Sri Lanka stated “The main objective of the CIM- SLIM Joint Forum is to initiate productive discussion­s within the community and to impart knowledge on trending themes, challenges and opportunit­ies in the country. The timely topic will highlight how the economic and the legislativ­e climate of a country impact the business environmen­t and how well the corporate entities should prepare to face.

Pradeep Edward, President of Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing stated, “As the national body for marketing, SLIM has always remained proactive in adding value to the nation’s efforts towards economic prosperity. This time SLIM joined hands with CIM Sri Lanka for the ‘Economy 2019’ forum, which definitely would add value to the business fraternity in the current context of a dynamic and complex marketing environmen­t”.

This forum will bring together Business leaders, CIM/ SLIM Members and Corporate Executives and it will be a platform for participan­ts to gain knowledge and share valuable insights which would help them in making decisions in their own organizati­ons.
