Pegasus Reef Hotel, one of Sri Lanka’s foremost hotels in the Food Tourism vertical, hosted a highly competitiv­e and exciting culinary challenge for amateur female home chefs at the hotel premises recently. Held at the hotel’s iconic seafood restaurant – The

Fishery – the management of Pegasus Reef Hotel together with their award-winning chefs curated the culinary challenge to celebrate the advent of shoulder season to peak season, while also setting the stage for local amateur chefs to be recognised and rewarded for their innate talent.

All 15 participan­ts walked away with amazing prizes and surprises, including Each a gift pack from Litro Gas Lanka, a gift pack each from Marina

Foods and a gift voucher each from Ocean Fish. Added to these prizes, the top 3 performers were also awarded 3 gift packs from Harishchan­dra Mills and an overnight stay at the Giritale Hotel.

The winner of the competitio­n that also saw the participat­ion of a few famous local celebritie­s, was Mrs. M. D. Shama Gunatilake. Mrs. Minali Balapitiya was placed second while Mrs. Pauline Suresh was placed third.
