A brief introduction to industries and its essentials

When paying attention to instances where power generators are usually used, the main instance that pops up is that they are used for temporary power in construction sites where their main powers are not yet been connected. Without the backup power from electric generators, contractors would be unable to carry out their daily tasks, or power the necessary equipment. This could also cause issues with timescales as if contractors are unable to power their tools, they will not be able to complete the work on time.

Industry, according to the dictionary definition is the aggregate of manufacturing or technically productive enterprises in a particular field or any general business activity or a commercial enterprise. All the industries together is what makes the country’s economy.

With the rapid advancement in technology the industrial sector continues to grow and evolve each day and has come a long journey since the industrial revolution back in18th century. The industries and the technology are two sides of the same coin where each one’s development contributes to the other.

As a developing country, Sri Lanka itself bears many industries where they contribute to the country’s GDP. To mention a few, tea, diamonds, food and beverages, light engineering, chemicals, petroleum, rubber and plastics, machinery and equipment together with the tourist industry are major industries in Sri Lanka.

With the industrialization, many factories, buildings and also apartments and housing schemes like projects are brought up and if you were to take a walk in major cities like Colombo and Kandy you may catch sight of constructions going on almost in every street. These ongoing projects require accessory equipments for their completion.

Basically to provide better service, industrial solutions like power generators, air conditioners, water pumps, etc. are needed. These requisite tools enhance the productivity of industries while making it functionally easier for the industries.

These maybe energy alternative solutions helping for the manufacturing processes or tools that will make the likelihood easier.

For an example a power generator is a device that converts motive power into electrical power for use in an external circuit. The reverse conversion of electrical energy into mechanical energy is done by an electric motor, and motors and generators have many similarities. Many motors can be mechanically driven to generate electricity and frequently make acceptable manual generators.

Common different types of power generators include diesel, natural gas, portable, standby and direct-current power generators. Power generators are typically identified by their primary source of energy, but there are other commonly used criteria such as portability and the nature of electricity produced.

Based on the primary source of energy, types of power generators include diesel and natural gas generators. These generators derive their power mainly from diesel and gasoline respectively.

Portable generators are easy to move around and use when need arises. These generators are common in home repair stores. Homeowners easily share or rent portable generators with minimal effort. In contrast, standby generators are permanently installed in a home or a business’ premises. Most portable and standby power generators use diesel or gasoline as the primary source of energy.

Many industries and market sectors rely on electric generators as a vital part of their backup plan. Power generators are called upon in a whole range of different situations, when mains power or other power sources are simply insufficient or unattainable. After all, power and energy are the most important part of any industry.

Another is; when the demand for power rises above the predicted level, electric generators are synchronized in order to provide the extra power required. These generators are known in the industry as STOR.

Likewise there are many other essentials in industries and all these together contribute to the industries as ‘industrial solutions’.
