Henry Meet

Ever since Dinushka saw an Indian advertisement featuring pugs, she knew she was in love. Since she was abroad studying, it wasn’t until recently that she could finally get herself a pug and she has never been happier.

Q HOW DID YOU FIND YOUR PET?

One of my closest friend's neighbours had pugs and Henry was from that litter. I’m always apprehensive about puppy mills. So when I found out about this, I begged them to sell one to me.

Q WHAT’S THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME YOU’VE GIVEN?

There’s no story as such. It’s a matter of trying to pick a name that suits the pet. So I was just running through a lot of names in my head and was trying to figure out if anything felt right. That was how I decided on Henry.

Q WHAT’S THE NAUGHTIEST THING HE HAS DONE?

He tried to chew on my dad's shoe! Luckily we caught him in time.

Q WHAT ARE MEAL TIMES AND BATH TIMES LIKE?

Henry is really adorable when it comes to meal times. He somehow knows the times perfectly. So when it’s time, he sits by his plate. Bathing him is also super easy since he’s quite tiny.

Q WHAT’S HIS FAVOURITE THING TO DO?

He has a tiny pool and he LOVES that. We also put in some of his favourite bath toys and he’s in doggie heaven, splashing around.

Q HOW DOES HE REACT WHEN YOU RETURN HOME?

Henry is extremely happy no matter who comes home. It doesn’t even matter how long we’ve been away. He’s always at the front door to welcome us.

Q DOES HE DO ANYTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY THAT FASCINATES YOU?

He’s terrified of his own shadow which is really quite hilarious.

Q WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT YOUR PET?

Henry is a ray of sunshine. He is the best dog ever. He’s my best friend. My partner in crime.

Q WHAT WAS THE MOST UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT YOU’VE SHARED WITH HIM?

I think many pet owners say this, but it’s the first time I met Henry. I had free rein on my pick of the litter and I didn’t really have to think about which puppy I picked. There was just something about Henry that drew me to him almost immediately.
