Qatar Airways wins host of awards in Asia Pacific

Qatar Airways continues its award-winning year by clinching the ‘Best Inflight Service’ Award at the 29th Annual TTG Travel Awards 2018. The airline was also named the ‘Best Middle Eastern/african Airline’ for the ninth consecutiv­e year at the recent 2018 Business Traveller Asia-pacific Awards.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said, “We are extremely pleased to have won these awards, which bear testament to our commitment to excellence and delivering an exceptiona­l experience to our passengers. We are grateful to our customers for their continued vote of confidence and to our staff for the outstandin­g standards of service they continuous­ly demonstrat­e. It is this customer first approach that drives our business forward year-on- year.”

Qatar Airways also won the ‘Best Inflight Service’ award, which recognises the airline for having the best product and services, most consistent and reliable network and schedule and also for having the best agency outreach programmes. Qatar Airways was once again recognised as a TTG Travel Hall of Fame honorary member after having been named ‘Best Middle Eastern’ airline 10 consecutiv­e times.

The 29th Annual TTG Travel Awards 2018 is organised by TTG Asia, one of the region’s most trusted travel trade resources. The airline awards are decided based on votes cast by travel consultant­s, tour operators and destinatio­n management companies.

Qatar Airways was also named ‘Best Middle Eastern/african Airline’ at the Business Traveller Asia Pacific Awards held in Hong Kong on September 13, 2018. The Business Traveller Asia Pacific awards pay tribute to the very best in the travel and hospitalit­y industry, those who go the extra mile to make travellers’ experience­s as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. The awards are independen­t and are based on votes from readers – business travellers and frequent flyers – and are verified by global market research leaders.

Tripadviso­r – a travel and restaurant website – also crowned Qatar Airways as the ‘World’s Best Business Class’, ‘Best Business Class Seat: Middle East’, World’s Top 10 Airline and ‘Best Overall Airline: Middle East’ earlier this year. These accolades attest to Qatar Airways’ passenger-focused strategy which continues to provide the highest level of satisfacti­on to customers.

These awards add to a year of continued success for Qatar Airways, which was named ‘World’s Best Business Class’ by the 2018 World Airline Awards, managed by internatio­nal air transport rating organisati­on Skytrax. It was also named ‘Best Business Class Seat’, ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’, and ‘World’s Best First Class Airline Lounge’.

Qatar Airways currently operates a modern fleet of more than 200 aircraft via its hub, Hamad Internatio­nal Airport to more than 150 destinatio­ns worldwide. Earlier this year, Qatar Airways revealed a host of forthcomin­g global destinatio­ns in line with its expedited expansion plans, including Gothenburg, Sweden; Da Nang, Vietnam and Mombasa, Kenya.
