Chevron and Ceylon German Tech partner for 17th consecutiv­e year

Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC, the leader in the Sri Lankan lubricant market, recently commenced a training programme for the 17th consecutiv­e year, on Lubricant technology for the final year students of Ceylon-german Technical Training Institute (CGTTI) in Ratmalana.

This year, the training programme was inaugurate­d on September 7, 2018, at the CGTTI auditorium in Ratmalana with the participat­ion of about 280 students, senior representa­tives of CGTTI and Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC.

This training programme is conducted to equip the future generation of automobile engineers with the latest and the most advanced knowledge on automotive lubricatio­n technology. The programme is specially designed to enhance CGTTI student’s knowledge with a more practical and insightful understand­ing of the lubricant technology and industry dynamics to meet the knowledge demands of local and global employers.

The programme is structured to cover 10 modules in seven weeks by a panel of lubricant technology experts from Chevron. This training programme covers the subjects of Lubricatio­n fundamenta­ls and formulatio­ns, petrol engine oils, diesel engine oils, gear oil and auto transmissi­on fluids, hydraulic systems and hydraulic oils, lubricant storage and handling practices and health, safety, environmen­t aspects of lubricatio­n.

At the end of this training programme the students will sit for a written examinatio­n enabling them to receive special recognitio­n for the knowledge gained from this technical knowledge training programme on lubricant technology.

Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC has been at the forefront in uplifting the industry standards through empowering and developing the skills of the future workforce through training programmes conducted not only for the students of CGTTI, but for students at Sri Lankagerma­n Training Institute (SLGTI) in Kilinochch­i. Chevron Sri Lanka also conducted 18 ‘Caltex Knowledge Sharing Sessions’ recently on lubricants, lubricatio­n technology and applicatio­n for its main channel partners islandwide.
