‘KILO OF KINDNESS’ CHARITY DRIVE

1 – 15 September 2018. This initiative is now in its fourth year, known to be a global charity event organised around all Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts, leading up to the UN international day of charity.

The hotel called on guests to donate at least one kilo of food, clothing and educational supplies to disadvantaged communities around the world, with a focus on underprivileged youngsters. This year's Kilo of Kindness initiative was in aid of the families at the “Galenbindunuweva village, Anuradhapura”.

Mövenpick Hotel Colombo invited their guests, team members and bloggers, as well as colleagues from their owning company – Softlogic Group PLC - to participate by donating towards this cause. An astounding 1,435 Kilos were collected within this period and these donations were then distributed amongst 50 families in the village and 20 children in the Ratmalvetiya Primary School during the Manusath Derana medical camp held last week. Mövenpick Hotel Colombo is one of 30+ hotels across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East supporting the campaign and all contributions were be gratefully received.
