CBL Natural Foods (Pvt) Ltd recognized in Presidential Export Awards for the second time
TBY HIRUNI DASANAYAKE he Presidential Export Awards (PEA) organized by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), is the most prestigious award for exports in Sri Lanka and it is presented to the exporters who have made a significant contribution to the Sri Lanka’s exports.
On its 22nd Presidential Exports Awards - 2018, CBL Natural Foods (Pvt) Ltd was recognised as ‘Highest Foreign Exchange Earner in Organic Product Exports category’. This was awarded to salute the company’s excellence in export performance made for the financial year which ended on the 31st of March 2018.
Annes Junaid, the Managing Director of CBL Natural Foods (Pvt) Ltd stated, “We are very pleased to note that the entire inputs of our value addition have come from our own local farming community. We are looking forward to add more to the rural economy by engaging and procuring from the local farmers.”
This marked the second Presidential Export Award for the Company, in recognition of its strong contribution to national exports, and efforts to create sustainable livelihoods for the local farming community where their farming activities contribute to the strengthening of the rural economy and thus enhancing the local agriculture.
