Edirisinghe Brothers launch Sri Lanka’s second hybrid hub facility

-

Edirisinghe Brothers Limited (EBL) announced the launch of Sri Lanka’s second purpose-built facility dedicated for the servicing, repairing and battery conditioning of hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles in Miriswatte, Piliyandala.

Edirisinghe Brothers’ Hybrid Hub, launched two years ago with its first centre located in Colombo adjacent to the Khettarama Cricket Stadium has established itself as the hybrid vehicle experts in the county.

The facility has managed to earn the respect and adoration of all its customers, based on delivering high quality services, backed by a culture of sharing knowledge with its clientele. Unlike with many other service providers, the staff is known to educate hybrid vehicle owners about proper maintenance tips, driving patterns for fuel consumption, and ways in which to get the most out of your hybrid vehicle.

Hybrid Hub is Sri Lanka’s exclusive authority using the proprietary HV battery diagnostic and conditioning system from Quarto Technical Services in U.S.A. The technology allows to revive the power and energy capacity of weak hybrid batteries to up to 95% of their original capacity. The validated battery conditioning equipment does this by analysing the State-of-health (SOH) of individual battery modules by connecting directly to them.

Sanka Edirisinghe, Co-chief Operating Officer - Edirisinghe Brothers’ Hybrid Hub said, ‘When we opened the first Hybrid Hub facility in Colombo, we did so seeing Sri Lankan vehicle owners displaying a shift towards hybrids. Around 90,000 HEVS had been registered at the time, and the demand shows little sign of slowing down two years down the line.’

This is among the primary reasons why EBL has chosen to open a second facility. ‘What we’ve learnt in the two years of operating our first Hybrid Hub branch is that while the demand for hybrids keep going up, there continues to be a dearth in the quality of technical authority displayed by most mechanics and lubrication centers looking after such vehicles, a lack of specialized tools in diagnosing issues, and improper understanding of safety procedures necessary to ensure the long-term health of the vehicle. We wanted to ensure that we reach as many hybrid vehicle-owners as possible - Piliyandala offers us this opportunity to reach out to HEV owners living outside the Colombo metropolitan area’, added Mr. Edirisinghe.

The new Edirisinghe Brothers’ Hybrid Hub facility will be located in Miriswatte, Piliyandala, and would be manned by trained technicians along with experienced service advisors. The facility will have the capacity to handle sixty (60) hybrids a day. The Piliyandala branch will be built on the high service standards HEV owners have come to expect from Hybrid Hub since it began two years ago. The facility will feature a HEV battery lab, multiple hoist bays to handle periodic maintenance and all types of electrical and mechanical repairs.

As in their Colombo facility, an ultra-modern customer lounge will be featured that would allow vehicle owners to sit back and relax as they watch their hybrids being taken care of.
