After A/L’S Complete a British (Hons) Degree in two years at ICBT Campus

Construction and Engineering Open Day was organized by BCAS on the 15th of September 2018.

British College of Applied Studies is one of the leading Institutes affiliated to recognized International Universities with branches in Kandy, Kurunagela, Jaffna and Kalmunai. The objective of the Open Day is to educate and to make the students aware that there is a path for the students after A/L to pursue the higher education in Construction and Engineering and about the global career opportunities available for the Industry. Three hundred prospective students participated with Industry experts and leading Academics with BCAS students and staff. The key note speakers were:

She delivered the lecture about the future opportunities in Career advancement in Sri Lankan Construction Industry. The learned lecturer highlighted the vast opportunities available in this sector. ■ Mr. Upul Shantha – President I.Q.S.S.L

■ Dr.thoradeniya - Head of Department - Institute of Technology University of Moratuwa

■ M. Noorul Aleem – Senior HSE Engineer – Chec Port City Colombo (PVT) Ltd., The above three lecturers explained in details the opportunities for higher studies and a career path in Sri Lanka for the Construction and Engineering students.

All the lectures were interesting and a question and answer session was allocated for the students to verify and to get more information about these courses. Students were happy as they got satisfactory answers for their questions

The students who passed out from BCAS had succeeded and are shining in the industry participated and shared their experience with BCAS and the industry.

During the Open Day the students got the opportunity to talk to senior staff, current students and passed out students. The participants also witnessed the projects of the student’s and the exhibition.

The representatives of the Banks were there and the students were able to get more information about the loan facilities for education purpose. The Industry Cooperate explained about the process of getting part time jobs for the students.

Finally the parents, students and the participants thanked BCAS for enlightening them about the prospects in Construction and Engineering time investment.
