Imam, Hussain clash in final showdown
The curtains of the Colombo District Snooker conducted by the Billiards and Snooker Association of Sri Lanka and sponsored by U.W. Sumathipala and Group of Companies will come today with the final clash between
F. R. Imam of Moors Islamic Cultural Home (MICH) and Ashiq Hussain of Moors Sports Club (MSC) set up a final showdown by winning their respective semi-final matches of the Colombo District Snooker Tournament continued at the Automobile Association (AA) Billiards Table yesterday.
Imam coasted to an easy four frames to nil win over N. M. M. Izam of Starlight BC Raddoluwa while Hussain in contrast had to work hard for his win against M. M. Rikas of Otters AC before prevailing by four frames to two.
The final encounter between Imam and Hussain would be worked off today commencing at 10.00 a.m.
Prior to the final, the clash for the third slot between N. M. M. Izam (Starlight BC) and M. M. Rikas (OAC) will be played at 9.00 a.m.

N. M. M. Izam (Starlight) beat C. M. Chandrasekera (Army) 3-1 (44/57, 68/32, 71/16, 66/29). F. R. Imam (MICH) beat W. M. P. Pushpakumara (ICSC) 3-0 (49/24, 52/10, 56/50). M. M. Rikas (OAC) beat D. L. T. Ramesh (PSC) 3-1 (66/43, 66/48, 59/63, 58/33). Ashiq Hussain (MSC) beat Anuruddha Higgoda (OAC) 3-2 (54/45, 25/70, 64/61, 57/70, 65/24). (Semi-finals):
