Fashion Bug conducts motivation­al programme for school students in Narammala

Spearheadi­ng not only the fashion segment but also its corporate social responsibi­lities, Fashion Bug, leading fashion retailer recently conducted three motivation­al programmes in Narammala, Kurunegala district, under its Sisu Dirimaga initiative, with leading motivation­al speaker Ismail A. Azeez.

The objective of the programmes were to strengthen and prompt future citizens by conducting three-hour motivation­al sessions targeting school students, particular­ly those who are in GCE O/L and AL, to empower them through personal motivation, exam techniques and career guidance.

A total of 1,750 students took part at the sessions to undergo the training programme under the guidance of Ismail A. Azeez, who is a trilingual trainer, motivation­al speaker, performanc­e coach and management consultant with over 20 years of experience in the corporate, developmen­t and public sectors.

Training programmes have been conducted in three leading schools, Central College -Kekunagoll­a, Muslim Maha Vidyalaya -Arakyala and Madeena National School -Si ya mb ala gaskotuwa. Principal sat those schools immensely contribute­d in making the events success.

Fashion Bug Director and Sisu Dirimaga Founder Shabier Subian commended the optimistic approach at improving the thinking style and learning opportunit­y for children in Narammala. “We at Fashion Bug strive to develop every sector of our nation through our corporate social responsibi­lity platform Sisu Dirimaga. It is more than a honour to provide the youth of our nation with access to training programmes such as this one. These programmes will assist them in perfecting their attributes and guide them into choosing the right path for their career,” Subian said.

The programme comprised three sessions:

‘Developing a Passion to become Successful’, covering ‘secrets of success’, ‘developing a burning desire to achieve what you want’, and ‘maintainin­g a positive mindset’

‘Facing Exams like a Champ’, covering ‘developing your memory power’, ‘review techniques’ and ‘exam secrets’

‘My Path of Success’, covering ‘choosing the right career for you’, and ‘options and opportunit­ies for you’

The training was delivered using a diverse range of techniques which included: Short lectures, selfreflec­tion - NLP techniques/self talk/visualisat­ion, self-assessment and psycho-metrics tools, video presentati­ons/case studies, and group counsellin­g techniques.

Fashion Bug spends over Rs.20 million annually on various CSR projects that are carried out throughout the country, ranging from sports and education through health to public services and beyond. The company has also developed its own scholarshi­p programme as part of its signature CSR initiative­s.
