Your fast track route to business success with CIMA qualification

-

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) empowers professionals pursuing the qualification the ability to achieve sustainable success in their careers. And now, The Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (AATSL) students and members can obtain the CIMA qualification on a faster route.

CIMA had a joint venture with the American Institute of CPAS (AICPA) and formed the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants. They now have over 667,000 members and students in public and management accounting. Through this joint venture, CIMA and the AICPA introduced a new global designation – Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) which is recognised by employers globally.

CIMA aims to unite and strengthen the accounting profession globally. Thus, qualifiers of AATSL now stand a chance to pursue CIMA, the most sought-after professional accounting qualification in the world. The AATSL qualification provides an excellent foundation for individuals to obtain a solid understanding of the fundamental tenets of accounting and finance. CIMA is considered a natural next step for a significant number of AATSL students.

AATSL students and members who have studied the 2015 syllabus onwards can commence studying for the CIMA qualification with exemptions from all four subjects in the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting and three subjects at the Operational level. On completion of CIMA and three years of relevant work experience, CIMA qualified-aatsl students are then eligible for CIMA membership, upon which they can use the ACMA and CGMA designations.

Obtaining the CGMA designation in addition to AATSL ensures you have the best preparation for an international global career as it certifies that you are highly skilled and set to add value to your place of work, whether self-employed or otherwise. CGMA designation holders are set apart by a plethora of unique skills.

These skills include financial analysis, project management, negotiation and leadership. Eligibility to use the designated letters of CGMA after your name does not equate to you being a mere spectator or an informant of business decisions. Instead, you can play a pivotal role in decisionmaking; distinguished by your advanced proficiency in finance, operations, strategy and management.

Passed finalists and members of AATSL who have completed exams from its 2015 Syllabus are entitled to a total savings of Rs.44,000. CIMA also offers flexible payment schemes via HNB credit cards (Zero interest instalment schemes with zero charges). If you are interested in kick starting your journey to a globally recognised qualification and hence, fasttracking your career, register with CIMA before November 15, 2018.
