DUMINDA, DAYASIRI, 5 STATE, 6 DEPUTY MINISTERS SWORN IN
MORE TO FOLLOW TODAY
Two Cabinet Ministers -Duminda Dissanayake and Dayasiri Jayasekara-, five State Ministers and six Deputy Ministers had been sworn in yesterday by President Maithripala Sirisena into the new Cabinet. This is the second phase of Cabinet appointments since the President announced Mahinda Rajapaksa as Prime Minister.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the President’s Secretariat under the patronage of the President and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
MP Duminda Dissanayake was appointed as Irrigation, Water Resources and Disaster Management Minister by President Sirisena, while Dayasiri Jayasekera was appointed as the Skills Development and Vocational Training Minister of the new Cabinet. Piyasena Gamage was sworn in as State Minister of Youth, Women and Child Affairs, while Lakshman Seneviratne was sworn in as State Minister of Defence. Mohan Lal Grero was sworn in as the State Minister of Education and Higher Education.
M. L. A. M. Hizbullah was sworn in as the State Minister of Highways and Road Development and Sriyani Wijewickrama was appointed State Minister of Provincial Councils, Local Government and Sports. Meanwhile, Angajan Ramanathan was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Manusha Nanayakkara as the Deputy Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment.
Indika Bandaranayake was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Housing and Urban Development.
Sarathi Dushmantha was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Justice and Prison Reforms and Nishantha Muthuhettigamage was appointed Deputy Minister of Ports and Shipping.
K. Kader Masthan was sworn in as the Deputy Minister of Resettlement, Rehabilitation, and Northern Development.
