G+D planning to expand local presence with next wave of ESIM
Giesecke and Devrient (G+D) Mobile Security, the market leader in embedded SIM (ESIM) technology and experts on the ESIM ecosystem announced the expansion of G+D’S presence in Sri Lanka during the next few years, with plans to enter into strategic partnerships with leading banks and telecommunication service providers.
In April 2018, G+D Mobile Security partnered with Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider Dialog Axiata to launch the commercial deployment of ESIM technology, along with the launch of the esim-compatible Huawei Watch 2 smartwatch in Sri Lanka. The pre-installed ESIM in wearables gives customers in Sri Lanka the ability to have a connection for their devices independent of a smartphone, eliminating the need for pairing devices and to be within a range of distance for connectivity.
