MEET Spotty

- BY RIHAAB MOWLANA

Srimila describes Spotty as “just another member in our family. Although with one eye we all love him very much”. Having wandered into their lives when he was just a kitten, Spotty has become an integral part of the family.

Q HOW DID YOU FIND YOUR PET?

Sudden kitten visitor to my mums house. Love for him at first sight I guess.

Q WHAT’S THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME YOU’VE GIVEN?

Instantly made up looking at him and he kind of responded.

Q WHAT ARE MEAL TIMES AND BATH TIMES LIKE?

3 big meals and an extra snack of boiled chicken or cat biscuits. Only wiping with a wet towel and cleaning.

Q WHAT’S HIS FAVOURITE THING TO DO?

Move cross ways and block us coming down steps. Takes us up to the door if he wants to go out.

Q WHAT’S THE NAUGHTIEST THING HE HAS DONE?

Caught a squirrel, didn't let go, kept running all over the house and gobbled him even after spraying water on him.

Q HOW DOES HE REACT WHEN YOU RETURN HOME?

Quiet ..then a big Meow or waits near the Gate for us to greet him.

Q DOES HE DO ANYTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY THAT FASCINATES YOU?

Yes - he listens to his master's command and comes back within minutes when called. Most days. Sleeps the entire night and wakes up with the alarm and impatient till he is given his meal.

Q WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT HIM?

Tends to acknowledge with vocal tones if you keep talking. loves to be petted hugged carried around for music.

Q WHAT WAS THE MOST UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT YOU’VE SHARED WITH YOUR PET?

He went for a long outing didn't come back for 2 days. We heard a story of a cat meeting with an accident and then managed to find him far away hidden in a store. When called he responded loudly and so sadly we noticed one eye.the other hanging like a grape. Immediate medical care was given to save him but he had lost one eye by then.
