was among the four Ministers who were sworn in yesterday before President Maithripal­a Sirisena.

The President swore in two Cabinet Ministers, a State Minister and a Deputy Minister yesterday in the formation of a new government after he sacked UNP leader Ranil Wickremesi­nghe from office. MP Dinesh Gunawardan­e who worked as the parliament­ary group leader of the Joint Opposition took oath before the President as the Minister of Megapolis and Western Developmen­t. Besides, MP Vasudeva Nanayakkar­a was sworn in as the Minister

of National Integratio­n, Reconcilia­tion and Official Languages .

Kandy District MP Keheliya Rambukwell­a took oath as the State Minister of Mass Media and

Digital Infrastruc­ture.

Accordingl­y, for the first time, three MPS from the Joint Opposition took office in the new government yesterday. The UPFA commands the support of 105 MPS in and the UNP 98.
