The President swore in two Cabinet Ministers, a State Minister and a Deputy Minister yesterday in the formation of a new government after he sacked UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe from office. MP Dinesh Gunawardane who worked as the parliamentary group leader of the Joint Opposition took oath before the President as the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development. Besides, MP Vasudeva Nanayakkara was sworn in as the Minister
of National Integration, Reconciliation and Official Languages .
Kandy District MP Keheliya Rambukwella took oath as the State Minister of Mass Media and
Digital Infrastructure.
Accordingly, for the first time, three MPS from the Joint Opposition took office in the new government yesterday. The UPFA commands the support of 105 MPS in and the UNP 98.
