- By Kalani Kumarasinghe

Hi Kids!

We hope you enjoyed the activities based on the Sports pages of the Daily Mirror over the past few weeks. This week let’s take a look at something fun and interesting for all ages.

ENJOY THE ACTION

1. Choose one comic strip from the Daily Mirror.

2. Cut out one frame from the strip and glue it on a piece of paper.

3. Underneath the frame, list all the things you can see in the frame.

CARTOONS

Can you imagine a world without cartoons? Cartoons have become an essential part of our lives. They also improve our vocabulary because of the commentary in them.

Editorial cartoons, the kind of cartoons you find in the news pages of a newspaper are a form of nonverbal communication and are an important part of the newspaper culture. They help shed light on issues that are important and can inform the reader of what is happening around us.

EDITORIAL CARTOON

1. Cut out the Editorial Cartoon from the Daily Mirror and glue it on a blank sheet of paper.

2. Find out who drew the Editorial Cartoon.

3. The Editorial Cartoon always relates to a major news report. Find the article which the cartoon relates to and paste it next to the cartoon.
