HNB Netball Champions for the third successive time

Hatton National Bank (HNB) for the third time repeatedly won the Mercantile knock-out A Division Netball Tournament at the St. Joseph’s College Indoor Stadium, Maradana.

Prior to this HNB also won the Mixed Division.

The tournament­s were conducted by the Mercantile Netball Associatio­n where 21 teams participat­ed under five divisions.

The Divisions were: A, B, C, Mixed and Open Male.

The A Division was between HNB and Seylan where HNB triumphed 41-37. (Quarters 11-10,19-19, 26-29 and final score 41-37).

National Player Gyani Dissanayak­e of HNB was selected as the Netball Queen.

In the Mixed Division Final HNB beat Fair First 20-9. The B Division champions were Sampath Bank. In the C Division Omega Line emerged champions whilst in the Male Division Campbell SC were the champions. RESULTS:

The Chief Guest at the Closing Ceremony was Thamara Darmakeert­hi Herath, the former President of the Mercantile Netball Associatio­n, the Netball Federation and Asian Netball.
