Northern Governor instructs education officials and principals

Northern Province Governor Reginald Coorey has instructed the provincial authoritie­s not to effect transfers in the teaching service without replacemen­ts.

Relevant officials should ensure that shortage of teachers would not arise due transfers and also should not effect transfers without replacemen­ts on the interferen­ce of others, the Governor has further instructed.

Recruitmen­t of diploma holders of higher technology education institutio­ns for science, maths and English subjects and engaging volunteer teachers have also been stressed in the instructio­ns.

“It is the responsibi­lity of the principals to have a proper supervisio­ns on educationa­l matters and consider the possibilit­y of sharing the facilities available in leading schools with the under- privileged schools,” the Governor instructed.
