INT’L LEADERSHIP SUMMIT AT MT. LAVINIA HOTEL

Colombo recently witnessed the celebratio­n of the Internatio­nal Leadership Forum at Mount Lavinia Hotel. Prominent personalit­ies from various walks of life participat­ed in the event for constructi­ve discourse on leadership and positive change in the society.

The event was graced by vibrant individual­s such as High Prince of Nigeria Leye Talpha Babalola and Prof. Dr. GD Singh, Founder of the Asian-african Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the World Peace and Diplomacy Organisati­on, who gave the opening remarks for the ceremony. A plethora of other dignitarie­s hailing from corporate, academia and the entertainm­ent industry were also part of the ceremony held with much pomp and pageantry.

Chief Guest Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and other Guests of Honour from the polity such as Tourism Minister John Amaratunga and Women and Child Affairs Minister Chandrani Bandara Jayasinghe were unable to attend the confab owing to the ongoing political impasse in the country, but they gave their blessings for the event.

The final address was delivered by Dr. Lakshman Madhurasin­ghe, WPDO Director-general and Vice Chairman of AACCI - Asian Region. The event also hosted two panel discussion­s on innovation, leadership and peace, moderated by Prassanna Pathmanath­an, with an illustriou­s panel consisting of Dr. Wishvas Julka, Cargills Bank MD Rajendra Theagaraja­h, Kapruka CEO Dulith Herath, Sarva Colombo CEO Chrisantha Jayasinghe and Bertling Logistics MD Sharmila Amin. Entertainm­ent performanc­es by Drum Café, Sparsh The Band, Channa and Aseka and Thuriya Female Band.
