SSC CRUISE TO MASSIVE OUTRIGHT VICTORY

SSC started their campaign for the Premier League Tier ‘A’ Cricket Tournament on a winning note with a convincing outright win by 112 runs over CCC in their match concluded at the SSC Grounds in Maitland Place.

The hero of SSC was their rightarm spinner Tharindu Ratnayake who ended with a matchbag of 14 wickets.

CCC set a victory target of 250 runs were bowled out for 137 runs despite a half century from Sri Lanka youth player Sonal Dinusha.

Meanwhile, a fine knock of 110 inclusive of six boundaries and three sixes by Hashen Ramanayake and an unbeaten 123 in just 92 balls with 13 boundaries and four sixes by Ravinath Wijesooriy­a helped the BRC record an easy first innings win over Badureliya CC in their match played at Maggona.

BRC in reply to Badureliya CC’S first innings score of 258 went on to make a massive 449 for five wickets declared.

Ragama CC secured a first innings win against NCC in their match played at the NCC Grounds in Maitland Place.

Ishan Jayaratne was unfortunat­e to miss out on a century by one run for Ragama CC.

He added 167 runs for the eighth wicket along with Sameera de Zoysa after Ragama CC had collapsed to 180 for seven at one stage.

Tamil Union along with Saracens SC and Moors SC recorded comfortabl­e first innings victories against Chilaw Marians CC, Colts CC and Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) CC in their matches played at Katunayake, Colts Ground and P. Sara Stadium respective­ly.
