Unbeaten teams head groups ‘A’ and ‘B’

Unbeaten, Central Finance Co. toppped Group “A” and unbeaten, DFCC Bank, toppped Group “B” as stage one of the “Coca Cola” Beverages Trophy, MCA “D” division, 40 Over League Tournament 2019 came to a conclusion.

The first four teams of each group advanced to the knock-out stage; besides Central Finance, the three other teams to qualify from group “A” were Airport & Aviation Services, Delmage Group and Bodyline (Pvt.) Ltd. DFCC Bank, together with Heshan Flexi Packaging, DPMC and NDB Bank, completed the four teams that went through from group “B”.

The League Stage honours went to Central Finance, for registering the highest team total of 257 for nine vs. Airport & Aviation; Senal Deelaka from Softlogic Finance, being the top individual scorer (137 in 98 balls, inclusive of four sixes and 18 fours vs. Hilton Colombo Residencies) and Sapumal Senanayake from Heshan Flexi for his excellent bowling performance of six for 15 vs. NDB Bank, while the lowest team total was registered by Colombo Dockyard – 49/10 in 24.4 vs. Heshan Flexi.
