Allianz Life launches special pension scheme for professional drivers

-

Allianz Life Insurance Lanka Ltd, an innovative insurance provider in Sri Lanka, recently launched a specialised pension scheme to empower all self-employed professional drivers of the nation.

This special product is the first of its kind in Sri Lanka and was launched with the direction and support of the National Road Safety Council.

The ceremony took place recently at Ragama with the presence of Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Arjuna Ranathunga, along with members of the National Road Safety Council, and more than 400 professional drivers from the Gampaha district.

This product provides a comprehensive pension solution exclusively for professional drivers. Allianz Lanka tailor made this product for professional drivers as these individuals are faced with high risk while at work every day which makes it important for them to be protected as well as for their families to have a secure future. Unlike other pension schemes this policy can be extended until the insured reaches 70 years of age. In addition, this policy includes a life cover covering the death of the insured, and the ability to check individual pension account balance at any given time via our 24 hour call centre.

All of these benefits are offered to the customer for a very affordable premium to ensure that all professional drivers of our county are protected.

In addition to the above benefits, the policy holder will also get access to ‘Allianz Virtual Doctor’ - a special value added service offered by Allianz alone. The virtual doctor is a special facility provided to Allianz policyholders, through which they get access to the best possible medical expertise in the world, without the need to travel anywhere.

The facility includes confirmation of diagnosis, evaluation of cases where a diagnosis is not yet possible, advice on the best course of treatment and follow-up on a case reported previously without any other limitations to the policyholder.

Further, this will allow the policyholders to receive a documented medical opinion on a complex, grave or critical illness diagnosis, directly from the panel of specialists working in world class medical institutions.

Commenting on this remarkable product, Allianz Insurance Lanka Managing Director Surekha Alles said: “At Allianz, we continue to innovate new products to meet the needs of all our customers alike, this pension scheme is one such product that has been introduced to ensure a peaceful retirement for all professional drivers of our nation. Catering to a specific segment of our customer base, we are confident that this product will change the way people perceive insurance. We look forward to customers embracing the convenience and flexibility of this affordable pension scheme and the special benefits offered.” Allianz will soon be launching this special product in all districts in the near future with the direction of the Ministry of Transportation and Civil Aviation and the National Road Safety Council. Once the product is widely available, any professional driver who is a member of the All Island Professional Drivers Association can obtain this pension product via the association.
