TEN DAYS IN INDIA
At Movenpick Hotel
Movenpick Hotel Colombo introduced their first ever ‘Indian Food Festival’ on the 8th of February at their AYU restaurant for guests to immerse themselves in Indian cuisine for ten days. ‘Ten Days in India’ is in collaboration with Sofitel Mumbai BKC with celebrity Chefs Vijay Singh and Sanjiv Uniyal taking over the kitchens at Movenpick to deliver authentic Indian dishes.
Indian food is admired for its curries and complex flavour pairings. With its use of tamarind, cardamon and other pungent ingredients, the resulting taste combinations are unlike anything found elsewhere. India’s regional and cultural diversity reflects beautifully in its flavoursome food and is possibly the reason why Indian food outranks that of most countries. Known as the land of a thousand spices, aromas and culinary traditions, the curries, biriyani and parathas work miraculously to tempt you into their spell.
An endless buffet of Indian dishes ranging from paneer makhana to Amristarimacchi, from tandoori gobi to goshtrogan josh and an unrivalled Indian dessert bar the likes of which you’ve never seen.
Hot Dosa made on the spot, Gosht Dum Biryani, Dal Makhani, Aloo Bonda, perfectly char-grilled Chicken and Fish Tikka are a few delicacies that can be found at the Indian Food Festival. The deserts bar includes melt in the mouth gulab jamuns, kulfi, gajar ka halwa, kheer and boondi to name a few. The food was mouth-watering and absolutely divine. The ambience of AYU has also been transformed with Indian décor and music to give guests a truly authentic experience.
