FITIS launches National CXO Forum for 2019

The Federation of Informatio­n Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS) the apex body of ICT industry is organising the National CXO Forum, for the fourth consecutiv­e year.

The CXO Forum will be held on March 14, 2019, at the Shangri-la Hotel Colombo. The sessions will be held from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. at the Grand Ballroom of the Shangri-la Hotel.

Casing varied areas of Banking, Finance and Insurance (BFI) Sector, Manufactur­ing Sector and Digital Government (egovernmen­t). The CXO forum will bring together approximat­ely 600 delegates, from both the private and public sectors of Sri Lanka on to a common forum.

FITIS Chairman Dr. Kithsiri Manchanaya­ke said: “This year’s CXO forum is the bridge required to increase the momentum of the industry pace in Sri Lanka and we are looking forward to the equilibriu­m of networks to extend this year.”

The National CXO Forum will feature acumens from leading 11 speakers from the Industry locally and internatio­nally. Largely anticipate­d forward-thinking disruptors, including experts from the IT and business innovators of companies in the region.

CXO Forum Chairman Prasad Hettiarach­chi said that the theme of the forum is ‘towards a digital economy’ and speakers will share their practical strategies and success stories in spearheadi­ng business innovation, applicatio­n of robotic process automation (RPA), implementa­tion of artificial intelligen­ce (AI), machine learning (ML), blockchain (BC), hyperloop technology (HT), securing organisati­ons and harnessing the latest technologi­es and fostering innovation to sustain business in today’s disrupted world.

The facet of speakers for the series will allow engagement and thinking of the industry together and give them cases of how the collaborat­ion can assist Sri Lankan companies to work together to bring the edge required to drive forward.

Speaking on the speakers FITIS Chief Executive Officer Aruna Alwis said: “This year’s line-up of speakers is one which breaks the bounds of the years past in terms of the gravity of content and indulging the industry with the stimulatio­n required.”

The opening keynote speaker Kay Lummitsch of the Digital Journeyman Foundation and API is to kick-start the programme and set the tone for the day.

Award winning CIO of LOLC Group Conrad Dias will lead the Banking, Finance and Insurance (BFI) Track. Rico Petrillo from Swisscom will make a special appearance to talk on distribute­d ledger technologi­es, hashgraph, blockchain, and Ethereum.

The Sri Lankan equivalent of Paypal, ‘Payhere’ Founder CEO Dhanika Perera will be making a guest appearance.

Another highlight is the area of e-governance and e-citizen, where, Suresh Surenthira­n of the Digital Journeyman Foundation will be leading the prominent discussion on e-governance and e-citizen track together with Indika De Zoysa and Sameera Jayawarden­a.

Prominent Sri Lankan security guru, Sujit Christy will be leading the presenters in the manufactur­ing track with Oktay Arslan of Swissloop (Hyperloop) will be making a special appearance to Talk about industrial design in manufactur­ing and how it contribute­d to the overall fauna of industry capabiliti­es. Dr. Chandika Wickramati­llake will address the audience on automation in the manufactur­ing sector.
