Bank of Ceylon offers 2,000 scholarships for grade 5 achievers islandwide
Bank of Ceylon (BOC) ‘Ran Kekulu Scholarships 2018’ main ceremony for grade-five scholarship achievers of 2018 is scheduled to take place tomorrow at the BMICH Colombo with the participation of respective students and their parents.
This main ceremony will award 322 students who have applied through Western Province South with the participation of the bank’s Chairman President’s Counsel Ronald C. Perera as the chief guest by invitation of the Ceo/general Manager Senarath Bandara.
Parallel to the main event, all other nine provinces will also conduct similar ceremonies on the same day. Through these the bank will altogether be awarding 2,000 scholarships on the same day.
The Central Province event is scheduled at the Hindu Association Kandy Trust Kandy, Eastern Province event will take place at Vincent Girl’s High School Batticaloa, North Central Province event is scheduled at Anuradhapura Youth Centre, Northern Province event to take place at two places namely at Green Grass Hotel Jaffna and Oviya Hotel Vavuniya.
North Western Province event will be held Western Salute Hotel Kurunegala. The Sabaragamuwa Province event will take place at the Public Library Auditorium Ratnapura (New Town), Southern Province event will take place at the Grand Navro Hotel Matara, Uva Province event to take place in River Side Holiday Inn Badulla and Western province North event to take place at Bishop’s College Auditorium.
As a part of its CSR initiatives, the bank will make its appreciation of the courage and dedication shown by twenty five differently-abled students who have passed the grade-five scholarship examination 2018 by offering them a scholarship of Rs.15,000 on February 22, 2019 (Tomorrow), and a monthly grant of Rs.1000 till the student passes through O/L examination. Six of these students will be felicitated at the main ceremony held at BMICH Colombo.
