Mahinda advance to quarter-finals

Mahinda College after conceding a first innings lead fought back to record a six wicket outright win over St. Peter’s College in their Under-19 Division One Cricket Tournament pre quarter-final encounter which concluded at Galle yesterday.

Meanwhile, a matchbag of 13 wickets by Samith Isuru paved the way for Karandeniy­a Central to record a massive 150-run win over P. de S. Kularatne MV, Ambalangod­a in their match which ended at Karandeniy­a.

At Galle (Mahinda won by six wickets)

St. Peter’s: 143 and 115 (Kushan Madusanka 6/46)

Mahinda (93/5 overnight): 124 (Hansika Welihina 72) and 137/4.

At Karandeniy­a (Karandeniy­a Central won by 150 runs)

Karandeniy­a Central: 281/9 declared and 59/4 declared
