01. Musk ox
Related to wild goats, these big hairy beasts, can weigh nearly half a ton and run at 40mph. Some 200 musk oxen, reintroduced from North America, live in Dovrefjell-sunndalsfjella National Park.

02. Beaver
The Bevis Trust and Wildlife Trust Wales want to get beavers released back into the wilds of Wales. From April, adults only can watch animals awaiting release enjoying their natural surroundings from a hide near Carmarthen.

Famed for their huge eyes, these cute primates, live in the Philippines.

04. Polar bear
See these magnificent creatures in October and November as they gather around Hudson Bay, waiting for ice to form so they can hunt seals.
