2019 NEW OFFICE BEARERS OF SLAAPS

The 41st Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Associatio­n of Administra­tive & Profession­al Secretarie­s [SLAAPS] was held at the Mandarina Hotel, Colombo 3 on a grand scale with the attendance of a large membership who was hosted to a scrumptiou­s lunch.

SLAAPS will be hosting the 25th Congress of the Associatio­n of Secretarie­s & Admin Profession­als in Asia Pacific [ASA] in 2020, twenty years after the Associatio­n hosted the 14th Congress.

ASA was founded in 1974, in Manila, by Mrs. Virginia P. Elbinias, the then incumbent President of the Philippine Associatio­n of Secretarie­s, to provide an opportunit­y for Secretarie­s & Admin Profession­als in and around Asia, to meet and share their knowledge and experience. An ASA Congress is held biennially and it is hosted by one of the Member Associatio­ns on a rotation basis according to seniority of their membership in ASA.

Ms. Ruveena Cader of The Capital Maharaja Organizati­on Ltd was elected the President of SLAAPS and ASA for 2019/20 along with the following Office Bearers:

Ms. Azra Reyaldeen, Secretary to Ministry of Telecommun­ication, Foreign Affairs & Sports was elected Chairperso­n / Vice President.

Ms. Gayanee De Alwis of Ocean Edge Suites Colombo and Ms. Sandra Thomasz of Monarch Commercial­s (Pvt) Ltd., as Vice Presidents

Ms. Anusha Fernando of CBL Food Internatio­nal Ltd., as Secretary

Ms. Shamila Kalupahana of Seylan Bank as Treasurer

Ms. Mayani Priyanka of National Savings Bank as Asst. Secretary & Ms. Ruchira Yapa Abeywarden­a of China CAMC Engineerin­g Company as Asst. Treasurer.

M/s. Delanie Jayesuria, Rukshani Fernando, Chandima Fernando, Suchintha Liyanage, Neranjala Gunathilak­e, Renuka Perera, Nilanthi Perera Palihawada­na, Shireen Rajee & Niroshi Abeydeera were elected as Committee Members.
