Anesta who is nine years old in the glamour scene speaks to Daily Mirror Life Impulse, providing us an insight about her life, current work and future plans.

WHAT MADE YOU ENTER THE FILM INDUSTRY?

After completing my school education, I realized that I should make use of the opportunities that many directors have given me. Hence, I decided to pursue opportunities offered to me but by filtering many roles offered. Knowing my own personality very well, I learned that I need to take up responsible roles with positive perspectives.

YOUR TERTIARY EDUCATION?

I went to the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM) and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from the University of Dublin, Ireland. I need to mention that NIBM supported me right throughout my career and gave me vital advice, guidance and the ability to carry myself forward in society.

WHAT WAS THE BEST OPPORTUNITY YOU RECEIVED?

I had the privilege of working with Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne - the profound philosopher and film director. He gave me the opportunity to play the role of Uththara in the movie ‘Bimba Devi alias Yashodara’. I was given the chance to show my skills in one of the greatest movies produced in Sri Lanka and representing my motherland as this movie gained international recognition.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR LATEST PRODUCTION?

Currently, this is the most trending music video called ‘Yashodara - Siri Siduhath Maheshika’ which is sung by Dilshan Dissanayaka and Directed by Sandesh Bandara. This production has been one of the best music videos I have acted in and the comments and strength given to me by the Sri Lankan public motivates me to go further in my career. Representing Yashodara - a noble supreme character in Lord Buddha’s life story, I played this role with a lot of enthusiasm, esteem and concern as this character has won the hearts of ardent Sri Lankan Buddhists.

YOUR FAMILY BACKGROUND?

Without my family, I would be nowhere. I would like to thank them for giving me the freedom and support. Their constant support and encouragement has always been a strength to move forward in both my work life and acting career. My father is a senior engineer at the Sri Lanka Transport Board and my mother supports my father with his work and looks after the household. I have a brother. He is a graduate from the University of Moratuwa and works as a software engineer in the banking sector. I would like to thank them all and I love them very much.

YOUR FUTURE PLANS?

To play esteemed roles in other music videos and films that portray Sri Lankan values and cultures. On the other hand if any other invitations are extended out to me, I will contribute towards them to the best of my ability.
