FITIS and BCSSL to host 60th APICTA Executive Committee meeting

The Federation of Informatio­n Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS) and BCS, the chartered institute for IT Sri Lanka section (BCSSL) are set to host the 60th Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Executive Committee Meeting on March 8 and 9, at the Galadari Hotel, Colombo.

APICTA is an alliance of national ICT organisati­ons representi­ng their respective economy to build and enhance a mutually cooperativ­e network to promote ICT, enhance technology innovation­s, capability and adoption, and encourage the developmen­t of indigenous ICT solutions for the global market.

Informatio­n and Communicat­ions Technology (ICT) is making a significan­t impact in the way we communicat­e, work, live and play. It is key to entreprene­urial and economic growth as well as wealth creation in our knowledge-based economies. With the recognitio­n of ICT as a fast growing, pervasive and ubiquitous activity and industry to support the economy’s growth agenda, APICTA epitomises the mutual collaborat­ion of economies coming together and working to further recognise this important phenomenon and FITIS Software Chapter and BCSSL jointly represent EXCO Board of APICTA for furtheranc­e of ICT industry in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka has won many accolades at the successive annual Asia Pacific ICT competitio­ns conducted by APICTA during the last 10 years creating a name for the high-quality recognitio­n for ICT products developed by Sri Lankan ICT community.

Hosting of the 60th Executive Committee Meeting of APICTA is another significan­t milestone in the improving relationsh­ip with the APICTA member countries.
