Xiaomi launches Redmi Go in Sri Lanka starting at Rs.12,999

Xiaomi, a global technology leader, introduced its first Android Go smartphone in Sri Lanka, ‘Redmi Go’, packed with useful software and efficient hardware, and will be available at Rs.12,999.

The Android Go programme was launched by Google in 2017, with affordable smartphone­s running on a highly efficient version of Android. Out of the box, Redmi Go runs the Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) operating system, featuring re-imagined Google apps that have been optimised to reduce storage and data use.

“Xiaomi has received such a warm welcome in Sri Lanka since its entry last year, and we are really grateful to all Mi fans for their support,” said Xiaomi India, Sri Lanka General Manager Vidya Sagar. “With Redmi Go making its debut here, we hope that even more users here will be able to enjoy an amazing smartphone experience at an amazing price. This is part of our commitment to make innovation available to everyone.”

Redmi Go features a 5.0-inch 720p HD display, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SOC, and a 3,000mah battery. On the back it sports a eight-megapixel main camera supported by an LED flashlight. On the front, Redmi Go has a five-megapixel camera for selfies. It comes with two SIM card slots and has a dedicated microsd slot that supports up to 128GB microsd cards. In terms of network connectivi­ty, Redmi Go supports 2G, 3G and 4G along with being VOLTE ready.

Redmi Go will come in Black and Blue colour variants, and is available in 8GB storage capacity at Rs.12,999 nationwide.
