Elephant House Cream Soda extends winning streak at People’s Awards

Elephant House Cream Soda has once again earned the highly coveted ‘Beverage Brand of the Year’ honour at the recently concluded Slimnielse­n People’s Awards 2019.

This is the 13th straight win in this category for Elephant House Cream Soda, which extends a winning streak that goes all the way back to the inaugurati­on of the Slim-nielsen People’s Awards in 2006.

Elephant House was also doubly recognized this year with this beloved beverage also winning the ‘Youth Choice Beverage Brand of the Year’ award for 2019, a strong indicator of the popularity Elephant House Cream Soda currently enjoys among local youth. Further, it is also important to bear in mind that Elephant House Cream Soda has won almost every “Youth Choice Beverage Brand of the Year” award since 2013.

One of the most awaited marketing events in Sri Lanka’s corporate calendar, due to the nominees and awardees being chosen by the voice of the people, the Slim-nielsen People’s Awards are the culminatio­n of a comprehens­ive nationwide research study conducted by Nielsen Sri Lanka, one of the world’s largest informatio­n and research companies that provide expertise in market research.

The Slim-nielsen People’s Awards also stands out because the general public acts as the ultimate judge, rating their favorite brands, personalit­ies, etc. and giving a verdict.

Award winners are identified via anisl-and-wide quantitati­ve faceto-face survey covering males and females aged between 15 to 60 years that was conducted over a period of five months utilizing a structured questionna­ire.

Tapping all districts in the country, including the North and East, interviews were carried out by trained Nielsen interviewe­rs who exercised randomized household selection, with respondent­s asked to mention their favorite brands, personalit­ies, etc. across a variety of categories.
