UZ ARTS’ MOVING OUT 2019 ON 23 MARCH

UZ Arts presents the work of nine artists from the UK who have been residents at the Sura Medura Centre in Dodanduwa for six weeks. The work is inspired by the people and culture of Sri Lanka and includes performanc­e, music, visual arts and multimedia. The work will then be taken to the UK and some will be presented in festivals and art centres in Scotland and England. 100 artistes have attended Sura Medura creating work inspired by the people and culture of Sri Lanka. This season, we continue to explore our theme of collaborat­ion between the artistes and the public. The work has been inspired by those who live in the locality and will take place in the grounds and building of our new residency and the lagoon that surrounds it. UZ Arts and Sura Medura invite the public for a performanc­e and exhibition at Sura Medura which is situated in Dammissara Road in Dodanduwa on Saturday 23 March between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Admission for the exhibition is free and a shuttle service will leave from Sunbeach Hotel, 572 Galle Road Hikkaduwa at 4.30 p.m. for the audiences’ convenienc­e.
