SLIM renews partnershi­p with Sadaharith­a Plantation­s

The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), renewed their partnershi­p with Sadaharith­a Plantation­s Ltd., to prepare a second batch of students to gain profession­al marketing qualificat­ions.

The renewal of the memorandum of understand­ing (MOU) furthers the enrolment of 45 Sadaharith­a Plantation­s staff personnel for a second batch of the Preliminar­y Certificat­e in Marketing (PCM) course offered by SLIM.

This official partnershi­p was initiated with the intention of providing a profession­al marketing qualificat­ion to the staff members of Sadaharith­a to enhance the profession­al growth of its sales force.

PCM is a foundation qualificat­ion in marketing that is designed for working and aspiring marketing and sales personnel. Educating budding marketers on the basic and fundamenta­l theories of marketing with business world examples is the core object of SLIM PCM.

Modules such as marketing mix, products, pricing, distributi­on, marketing communicat­ion, promotions, marketing concepts, marketing environmen­t, consumer behaviour, marketing research, segmentati­on, targeting and positionin­g (STP), product planning and developmen­t, as well as Marketing vs. Sales are included in the three-month programme. tailor-made to match the requiremen­ts of the company, the programme is delivered with industry examples by a prominent panel of lecturers. The programme generates an excellent opportunit­y for the Sadaharith­a sales force to enhance and improve their skills and knowledge with a solid foundation in marketing from SLIM.

Qualifying in the Preliminar­y Certificat­e in Marketing will open new vistas in the education path of the Sadaharith­a marketing and sales staff. Selected candidates from the first batch of the PCM from Sadaharith­a Plantation­s were given the opportunit­y to follow the National Diploma in Sales Management (NDSM) programme this year.

The Preliminar­y Certificat­e in Marketing is a stepping stone for the staff to continue their profession­al education and climb the corporate ladder.
