Old is Gold

-

As early as the age of 40, nail growth begins to slow down. Nails also become more affected by negative factors in the environment which impact on strength and appearance

As people get older, physical things like bending down to reach their toenails and handling nail clippers, can become more challenging, which leads to neglect where nail care is concerned.

There is no real reason for this to be the case. At The Nail Anatomy (TNA) we are sensitive to the needs of our elderly clients, and guarantee a tender touch. Most importantly, our therapists are well versed in dealing with the common concerns and changes that occur when it comes to nail health in older clients.

At TNA we are very particular about getting an updated medical history at the first appointment of every client, and with the elderly in particular, since these histories alert us to any specific issues and particular care that must be taken.

Scheduling nail trims every four weeks is a reasonable precaution for older clients, and toenails should always be trimmed straight across in order to prevent ingrown nails. A 2 to 3 week nail polish holiday is recommended for older people since polish remover can worsen the condition of brittle nails.for a nail experience like no other, visit The Nail Anatomy at 10 Cambridge Terrace, Colombo 7. We are open 7 days a week from 9am to 8pm. For more information log on to www.thenailanatomy.com
