Mr. Premadasa said Sri Lanka’s youth would be in the forefront of this new economic programme and while following in his father’s footsteps by introducing a 200-apparelfactory programme and pledged to spread industrial development to divisional secretariats.
“We will also build Information Technology and Language centres in each of the divisional secretariats where English, Japanese and Chinese will be taught, ” he said and added that national security would be handled in a broader sense with a focus on social and economic security in addition to developing our armed services.
