Sampath Bank hosts ‘Sampath Saviya - SME Forum’ in Kandy to assist entreprene­urs

Sampath Bank recently conducted a one-day business forum in Kandy titled ‘Sampath Saviya SME forum,’ a developmen­t programme targeting micro, small and medium scale entreprene­urs (MSMES) to provide them key practical approaches to drive business success.

The forum comprised of four sessions; leadership developmen­t, sales tactics to enhance sales, psychologi­cal approaches, branding and an extensive panel discussion where participan­ts were able to clarify any doubts or ask relevant questions.

The forum was held free of charge for all participan­ts and was attended by over 170 entreprene­urs representi­ng different trades from different industries.

The distinguis­hed panel of experts conducting the forum included Sampath Bank PLC Director and Management Consultant, Executive Coach and Author Deepal Sooriyaara­chchi, Senior Consultant in Sales Training, Coaching and Personal Financial Planning Suranjith Godagama and Human Potential Developmen­t Trainer and Author Chandana Gunawardan­e. “We are always willing to lend a hand to help develop small and medium entreprene­urs as they are the backbone of this country’s economy. The advice we give them today will enable them to succeed in any field they wish to pursue. From leadership to sales to branding, the advice we have given them will hold them in a good stead and help them make better decisions in their business activities. In future we hope to see them as successful business leaders taking the county forward,” said Sampath Bank PLC Branch Banking Deputy General Manager Thusitha Nakandala.

Launched in 2013 ‘Sampath Saviya’ is the bank’s developmen­t programme for entreprene­urs which aim to develop the MSME sector. Since its launch in 2013, Sampath Bank has conducted several projects across the island in partnershi­p with the National Chamber of Commerce, Export Developmen­t Board, Universiti­es, Regional Chambers and Divisional Secretaria­ts and helped over 2,500 MSME entreprene­urs to date.
