FITIS, LK Domain Registry, TECHCERT to hold talks on developing, maintaining a secure website
With the emergence of cybercrime, it is imperative that an overall secure website is developed and maintained, as it would benefit and create trust amongst all stakeholders related to a business entity.
Thus, the Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS) has partnered with LK Domain, an independent non-profit organisation, which assists Sri Lankan organisations and individuals to create their unique identity on the web by registering LK domains, and TECHCERT, Sri Lanka’s first and the largest computer emergency readiness team (CERT) to assist businesses and individuals to gain an understanding on developing and maintaining a secure website on August 19, 2019, from 2:00p.m. to 5:30p.m., at the CIMA Auditorium.
The discussion shall comprise of Session 1; An introduction to website and webserver security by Chamara Dissanayake (Head of IT, LK Domain Registry), Session 2: Best practices for designing and managing a website with improved security by Kasun Chathuranga (Lead Security Engineer, TECHCERT), Session 3; Demonstration of modern website attacks by Sampath Hennayake (Asst. Manager IT, LK Domain Registry) and Session 4; Post actions and procedure to mitigate the impact of the attack by Chathuranga Gunatillaka (Information Security Engineer, TECHCERT).
