Economic Summit 2019 to discuss global dynamics in next decade
The premier economic forum, Sri Lanka Economic Summit (SLES) 2019, will discuss the global economy in the morning session of Day 1.
In a session focused on the global dynamics in the next decade, the current discourse in the global environment will be discussed. These mostly centre on trade wars, Brexit and the next policy step by the US Federal Reserve, from amongst others.
In a broader context, global financial market dynamics, a rapidly transforming technology landscape, dynamics in labour and the shift of power in manufacturing and service industries are also weighing in this dynamic global economy.
The presenters at this plenary will include Shri Suresh Prabhu, former Minister of Commerce and Industry and Civil Aviation of the Government of India and MPRS and PM’S Sherpa G20 and G7, Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam and ASA Cluster Markets CEO Nirukth Sapru and Board of Investment Sri Lanka Chairman Mangala Yapa.
The panellists at the event will feature Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Chairman Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, Hayleys PLC Co-chairman (Non-executive) and Vallibel One PLC Chairman/md Dhammika Perera and Sunshine Holdings PLC Group Managing Director Vish Govindasamy.
Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies Sri Lanka Executive Director Dr. Ganeshan Wignaraja will moderate the session.
