Island Tea Co. expands in Sri Lanka

Island Tea Co. (ITC), a fast growing retail tea chain brand with over 35 branches in Philippine­s has entered the Sri Lankan market to start its first branch in the tourist destinatio­n of Ella.

The Island Tea Co. is a Sri Lankan brand which has grown in the Philippine­s exponentia­lly over the last two years and it’s the first and only speciality retail tea store in the Philippine­s to serve a range of the most sought after tea blends and fusions from around the globe, all using 100 percent ‘Pure Ceylon Tea’.

The first branch in Sri Lanka located in Ella, is only the start for the brand to serve its signature trend-setting tea beverages that appeal to a broad segment of the market from younger to mature audiences alike.

With its wide range of unique beverages ranging from Cream Cheese Milk Teas, Green Tea Cream Cheese, Tiger Sugar Milk Teas, Tea Shakes, Oreo Cream Cheese Milk Teas, Creamy Nutella Milk Teas, Bubble Milk Teas, along with a host of other hot teas to iced fruit teas and green teas, promises to offer the locals and tourists a far different tea experience to that of the common tea houses. ITC Marketing Director and Philippine­s, India and Qatar Lead Consultant Minodh de Sylva signed the franchise agreements in Colombo with Vijith Welikala, the Chairman of Wild Holidays Ltd (The owning company of popular tourist destinatio­ns such as Thotupola Lakeside and Ella Jungle Resort), Watch-guard Security and M3force Security Systems.

Island Tea Co. chain is owned and operated by Ceylanka Trading Incorporat­ed, a company registered under the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the Republic of the Philippine­s. The company has planned expansions underway in Philippine­s, Sri Lanka, India and Qatar within the year 2019.
