SL Police Celebrate 153 Years of Service to the Nation by Remanding the IGP

-

This is certainly a world record! The reasons are best known to our legal advisers of the Government and the HEAD of State. It is a well known fact that according to the facts placed before the Commission of Inquiry and the CID that both the Defence Secretary and the IGP had failed to take adequate action to prevent a disaster. But according to the available evidence have they committed a murder/murders? Taking into consideration the laws of this country it is not possible According to my experience in the police and knowledge of the law, murder could be committed in many ways, eg., premeditation and grave and sudden provocation. Furthermore what was the motive for this IGP or the Defence Secretary to commit murder of so many innocent lives? They themselves were completely unaware of the seriousness of this. A motive is certainly an important ingredient to prove a charge of murder! Certainly they have neglected their duties which may amount to negligence but not MURDER. It is certainly sad that people look for scapegoats when a serious situation arises and perhaps the DIG Intelligence, who conveyed the intelligence failed to ensure that this important intelligence was correctly evaluated and failed to convey it to those who were to be affected and in fact failed to monitor the proper implementation of such valuable information by not even conveying it to the Prime Minister, Leader of the House, Leader of the Opposition and finally to the Catholic Church. The Government legal advisers have certainly erred in moving these officers to remand prison. This does not constitute the offence of Murder. This is certainly a blatant mistake according to the laws of this land. Most they can be charged is for neglect of duties or Gross Negligence but NOT MURDER. The police department has a legal Division, what are they doing? Don’t they have the courage to defend the head of the department when the law is misinterpreted a n d inaccurate statements are made in courts of law misdirecting the judiciary? It is the Darkest hour for the police department!

As a Christian

I will pray for them
