CERT|CC CYBER SECURITY WEEK ON
Sri Lanka CERT|CC conducts an annual programme called Cyber Security Week (CSW), to raise awareness about information security among various groups within the country, from professionals to schoolchildren. It consists of a conference, technical workshops, a hacking challenge and an information security quiz for university students.
The 12th Annual National Conference on Cybersecurity of CSW 2019 was presided over by the Digital Infrastructure and Information Technology Minister Ajith P. Perera at the Hilton with the participation of 350 representatives from six countries.
The event shared the experiences and solutions from the UK, Ireland, Malaysia, Estonia, Finland, the SAARC and the Asia Pacific region as well as Sri Lanka.
The ongoing conference concludes a very successful week-long event in which 24 teams representing 15 universities participated, travelling from all over the country for this year’s quiz.
Top security experts representing the top public and private sector competed to resolve cybersecurity challenges at this year’s Hacking Challenge. The winners of both events will be revealed at an award ceremony during the conference. All three workshops dedicated to sharing advanced cybersecurity practices were sold out.
The Cyber Security Week in Sri Lanka had been so successful that next year, it has been selected to host the Annual General Meeting and Conference of APCERT (Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Teams), taking over from Singapore this year.
